BREAKTHROUGH BLESSING

Good luck is an expression we often hear other say whenever we have an important event in our lives. We hear them say, “Good luck on your first job interview” or “Good luck on your examination.” But we fail to realize that there is a much bigger word in the Bible, far better than good luck, and this is the word BLESSED. We need to focus our thinking in appreciating the blessings of the Lord more and more in our lives. We should be aware that our best effort, best talent, best strategy and best work are all nothing and useless without the Lord’s blessing. It is very important that we be grateful for the Lord’s blessing.

You may have all the money in the world, expensive cars, lots and houses, and all the material possessions any human can wish for but nevertheless you will still feel empty and lonely inside. But the good news is that God is offering a solution for your loneliness and emptiness. He is giving you the BLESSED FACTOR.

God’s Blessing is the reflection of His incredible love for His creations. Love always desires to bless the object of his affection. God wants to love us and bless us above all else.

Genesis 1:22 (NIV) God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

In this verse God blessed the creatures of the sea, what more the object of His love which is YOU! God wants to bless us tremendously so that we could bless others. When it comes to blessings we should not keep it to ourselves. Blessings are meant to be shared. God is blessing you to bless others. He wants you to be His partner to bless and show is love to your neighbor, family and even a stranger. Blessed factor is living your life under the blessings of God.
Today,  I would just want to amend and give conviction to the BLESSED FACTORsubject. And in line with this we are going to talk about a topic called BREAKTHROUGH BLESSING.
Breakthrough simply means unblocking, unlocking and releasing the blessing of God. Just like a dam, full of water, opens its gates to let the water flow to the crops of the soil, God wants us to experience His blessings to the fullest, may it be material, spiritual or emotional. God’s blessing can change a person’s life. It can revive a church. And it can also transform a city or even a nation. The big question is, why are some people not experiencing the full potential of God’s blessing?

In this note let me cover two points, just two points on how to unblock, unlock and release the full potential of God’s Blessing.
1.

           INTENSE
Sometime God searches for people who are intense. Let us take a look at this passage in the Bible.

   -1 Chronicles 4:9-10 (NIV)

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the Lord of Israel, “Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

We can see here that Jabez is going through a lot in this passage. Amazingly, people who are going through so much pain tend to pray intensely to the LORD. Jabez accepts a fact that without god’s blessing he cannot live. He did not take God’s blessing for granted. What he did was acknowledge it and asked God for it. Intense prayers, not just shallow prayers, are the ones God answers. As for me what I discovered is that every time your prayeris intense where your whole being is focused and involved, it changes you! And for me that is the big blessing indeed. You will become a changed person.

         CONSISTENT
When we say consistent it means that it is unchanging, continuous, reliable, truthful and conformable. Being true to what you say you will do also means you are being consistent. But the challenge really is, how to be consistent in applying God’s Word into our daily lives.
–Joshua 6:1-6 (NIV)
Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and      no one come in . 2 then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams‘ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets, 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.“ 6 So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven  priests carry trumpets in front of it “
At first we might think that nothing really is happening. But at the end God‘s promise will prevail. In life we have to learn to rely on God’s promise. We should also be consistent in reading and applying God’s word in our lives. God is so consistent that whatever He promises He will certainly do. Just keep on blessing, continue to bless until you get your break through blessing.

Let me end this with this short story from the Bible.

2Kings 5:10-14 (NIV)
10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” 11 But Naaman went away angry and said, ”I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage .13 Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed‘!” 14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.
