THE BLESSEDNESS OF BROKENNESS

Matthew 26:7-9 (NLT)

While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.
The disciples were indignant when they saw this. “What a waste!” they said. “It could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.”

Your Deepest Breaking Becomes Your Greatest Blessing

If you want a great blessing, expect a great testing. Great blessings go hand in hand with breaking. A person who is truly blessed is a person who is deeply broken. This person knows that everything he has come from God alone. Brokenness is not limited to physical ailments or discomfort. This is really a state of the heart. Sometimes God has to break us deeply in order for Him to cleanse our hearts from impurities. When we are broken it is easier for us to call upon God but in the good times we tend to forget where all these blessings came from. Before we know it our hearts have grown cold before God.

Do you feel that you are now going through your deepest breaking? If not, do you want to experience God’s breaking? In our verse for today, we saw how the woman broke her alabaster jar and pour all its contents on Jesus’ head. The onlookers were very angry with the woman for they did not understand how broken and pure the woman’s heart is.

1.       BROKEN PEOPLE ARE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE
The people who do not have anything to lean on to but GOD, were the ones who are beautiful in God’s sight. When we are broken, we allow the beauty of the Son of God to emanate from us. Our physical features are not that important as compared to what is inside of us as a person. That is why God has to break us in order to release what is on the inside. What is on the inside? He is the Son of God.

Isaiah 66:2 (NLT) Says, “My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine.” I, the Lord have spoken “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who trembled of my word.”

2.       BROKEN PEOPLE ARE NOURISHING PEOPLE
Mark 6:39-44

39 Then Jesus told the disciples to have the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of fifty or a hundred.
41 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share. 42 They all ate as much as they wanted, 43 and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. 44 A total of 5,000 men and their families were fed from those loaves!

If you want multiplication in your life you have to accept brokenness. That is the only way for God to multiply you. Do not resist when God wants to break you. Broken people are nourishing people because when you deal with them your spirit will be uplifted.

Broken People are like broken bread, they allow other people to feed on them.
Psalm 34:18 (NLT) “ The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed”

3.       BROKEN PEOPLE ARE VICTORIOUS PEOPLE
With God all things are possible. God only wants us to have our full trust in Him. His ways are not our ways. Even if you can’t understand it yet just surrender fully to God and He will show His Greatness and Faithfulness in your life. You do not have to defend yourself God will make you victorious still.

Judges 7: 15-22 (NLT)

“If the spirit of brokenness and calling on God ever stacks off in the Brooklyn Tabernacle, we’ll know we’re in trouble, even if we have 10,000 in attendance.”
